Special Tips when staying at the Allegro Papagayo:

-Check-in isn’t until 3:00 P.M.  Even then the rooms are not always done.  Have a swimsuit handy upon arrival and go straight to the pool.  Worrying about checking in right away or waiting around in the lobby will just cause aggravation.

-Souvenirs are expensive at the resort.  Take a day trip to Coco Beach to buy pottery, jewelry, wood carvings, coffee, alcohol, etc, etc.

-Bugs are a reality in Costa Rica.  Finding a few ants in the rooms isn’t considered a big deal by the staff because to them that is completely normal.  Bring some raid if it is a concern.  Mosquitoes can be bothersome in the rainy months (May to Nov.).  Bring some Off from home as it is pricey at the hotel.

-The resort treats towels like gold as should the guest.  Once receiving a towel hold on to it for the whole trip or do a direct exchange as they often run out.  Not having your towel ticket at check out can result in an expensive charge.

-Get outside the resort as much as you can.  Doing outside tours and trips will add to your vacation and prevent boredom at this very secluded resort which is at least 45 min. (driving) from any significant town.
