New School Supplies Given to

Teachers at Coco School

On Feb. 18 at 10:00 A.M. Volunteers from Proyecto de Luz distributed school supplies to all the teachers at the Playas del Coco Elementary School and Nursery School (CEN). 

Earlier in the month volunteers had gone to the school and specifically asked the teachers to make lists of desired school supplies that they needed.  Requests included maps, art supplies, paper, educational games, notebooks, musical instruments, etc. 

The school supplies were accepted with great appreciation from the teachers.  School uniforms were also given out to students who expressed a special need.  Proyecto de Luz used $4000 out of the funds raised at the Casino Night to buy all the supplies and uniforms.   

Special thanks to Barbara Hoffman project manger of the school uniform department, Debbie Miesel and Ramona Reid very active volunteers, and visiting volunteers from Canada Diane Humenick, Larry & Marleen Cook, and Cathy Tansley.
